How's that for novel advice? People often want the easy answer. They want the new gadget that is going to give them better photos but the thing that is going to really make a difference is practice. That is why, as a whole, people have gotten so much better at taking photos. It used to be that you would take 16 photos as best you could and then get them developed a long time later and then complain about how they suck. Now, you can take 16,000 photos, see them instantly, complain they suck, and then figure out why they suck and fix it.
I've been a professional photographer for about 8 years now but as I was looking through old pictures for this blog, I realized that the progression of my skills has been pretty dramatic. Sure, some of that is gear. The cameras now can take good pictures in near pitch black conditions and that was not the case until fairly recently. But besides that, just the composition and technical skills have improved greatly.
I'll be using this blog to share tips on how to speed up that progression. I don't like looking at crappy photos of your kids so I'd like to help you. Stay tuned. Follow us on Instagram to see our photos.
